Maarten specialises in contractual disputes, liability cases and insurance law. He draws on his extensive experience as a litigation lawyer to advise and litigate on contracts, professional liability, product liability and other matters. He also frequently assists insurance companies in coverage disputes and recovery proceedings.
Maarten began his career with DLA Piper in 2007 before switching to Rutgers & Posch in 2012, where he was made partner in 2020.
Among others, Maarten is a member of the Dutch Liability and Compensation Law Association, the Dutch Association of Commercial Law, the Dutch Procedural Law Association, the Dutch Insurance Law Association and the Dutch Corporate Litigation Association.
He is registered to practise the following principal (and secondary) areas of the law in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas: Civil procedural law (Litigation, Arbitration, Attachment and Enforcement of judgments). According to the standards of the Netherlands Bar, he is required to record 10 CPD credits every year for each principal area of the law for which he is registered.
